The separatist east territory of Moldova. The Moldova territories on the left bank of river Dniestr were conquered by Russian Army from the Turks at the end of the XVIIIc. In 1792 the Russian general, A.Suvorov, founded the town of Tiraspol, now a capital of the self proclaimed republic. The area was later always in Russian or Soviet empire except 1941-1943, when was capture by Romanian troops. Now, after two centuries of Russian colonization equally populated by Moldovans, Russians and Ukrainians. Proclamation of independent by Moldova in 1991 was a beginning of Russian's Transdniestria separatist movement. After negotiation conducted with Russian participation and backed by Russian Army, Transdniestria Moldovan Republic was formed. Transdniestria has a president, parliament, army but is not recognized internationally. Moldova promised to not used a force to reestablish its territorial integrity.
